Terms of sale and refunds
Purchase, payment and refund terms for Moi Store smart cabinets: prices, pre-authorisation, app payments, reporting problems and refunds.
These terms apply to purchases you make from Moi Store smart cabinets, either at the cabinet’s payment terminal or with the Moi Store app (app.moistore.fi). Please read them before your first purchase. By opening a cabinet and taking a product you accept these terms.

Products and prices
The cabinets sell food, such as meals, snacks and drinks. Prices are in euros (EUR) and include VAT. The current price is shown at the product in the cabinet and in the app. Ingredients, allergens and the use-by date are marked on the packaging.
How a purchase works
- The cabinet opens once your payment method has been verified.
- Take the products you want and close the door. The cabinet’s recognition system registers the products taken.
- You are charged only for the products that were not put back when the door closed. A product you put back before closing the door is not charged.
- The sale is concluded when the door closes. You are responsible for the products you take from the cabinet.
Payment and pre-authorisation
At the payment terminal you can pay by card or mobile payment. In the Moi Store app we accept payment cards (Visa, Mastercard), Apple Pay and Google Pay.
When you open a cabinet, a pre-authorisation (a temporary hold) is placed on your payment method: in the app 10 €. A hold is not a charge. When the door closes we charge only the actual amount of your purchase and the rest of the hold is released. If you take nothing, the whole hold is released. Depending on your bank, the hold may remain visible on your account for a few days.
If your purchase in the app exceeds the 10 € hold, we immediately charge the full amount of your purchase to your saved card and the hold is released. For this reason the app asks you to save a card and to agree to this before your first purchase.
If the charge to your saved card fails, the amount remains outstanding. Opening cabinets with the app is blocked until the outstanding amount has been paid. The app shows the amount and you can pay it there.
The charge appears on your statement as MOI STORE.
Payment security and saved cards
Payments in the app are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (Ireland), which complies with the card industry’s PCI DSS security standard. Your card number is not stored in Moi Store’s systems; we only see the card type and its last four digits. A saved card is used only to charge purchases you make in the app. You can remove a saved card in your app profile at any time when there is no outstanding amount.
Receipts
For purchases made with the app, the receipt is shown in the app as soon as the door closes. For purchases made at the payment terminal, you can request a receipt from customer service; tell us the cabinet, date and time.
Right of withdrawal
The 14-day right of withdrawal for distance sales under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act does not apply to purchases made at automated retail premises such as a smart cabinet (Consumer Protection Act, chapter 6, section 2). There is also no right of withdrawal for products that perish quickly. This does not limit your rights regarding a defective product or an incorrect charge.
Defective products or incorrect charges – refunds
If a product is defective (for example past its use-by date, with damaged packaging, or spoiled) or you have been charged incorrectly, tell us within a reasonable time after noticing it. The sooner you report it, the easier it is to resolve.
- Report it via the contact form (topic "Problem with a purchase or an incorrect charge"), by email to info@moistore.fi, by phone or WhatsApp.
- Tell us the cabinet, date and time. For app purchases, the receipt in the app is enough.
- We check the transaction in the cabinet’s records. If the error is confirmed, we refund the defective product or the amount overcharged to the payment method you used. Depending on your bank, the refund usually appears within 5–10 banking days.
- You do not need to return a defective food product to the cabinet. Do not eat a product you suspect is spoiled.
Products that are not defective cannot be returned once the cabinet door has closed.
Use of the cabinets and the app
You sign in to the app with a one-time code sent to your email address. You are responsible for the use of your account; do not share your sign-in code. We may block the use of the cabinets or the app in case of misuse, damage to a cabinet or unpaid amounts. You can have your account deleted by contacting customer service; purchase records that must be kept under the Finnish Accounting Act are kept for the period required by law.
Personal data
We process personal data in accordance with our privacy statement.
Disputes
Please contact our customer service first – most matters are resolved quickly. If we cannot reach an agreement, as a consumer you can ask the Finnish consumer advisory service for help (www.kuluttajaneuvonta.fi) and refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (www.kuluttajariita.fi). These terms are governed by Finnish law.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. Changes do not affect purchases already made. The terms in force are always on this page. If the language versions differ, the Finnish version prevails.
Terms in force from 16.10.2026.
